An Innocent Abroad - a recollection from Steve

Robin and I had gone to London to hawk our tapes round the record companies. Stupidly we went on a cheap weekend return, never considering that all the record companies would be closed. Anyway, it may well have been my first trip to London.

I assumed the whole place revolved around the music business. We were stood at Piccadilly Circus when a guy came up to me and said conspiratorially, "hey man, do you want to buy some gear".

Innocently I replied, "no thanks mate, I've got a Gibson bass and a Burman stack".

(editors comment - A "Burman stack" was a term used to describe a collection of loudspeaker cabinets - "gear" in group parlance)
