Major Theft -A recollection from Steve

Mick Simons was someone I would describe as eccentric.

I saw an early example of this when we were playing the Mayfair in Newcastle. I was about to enter the dressing room when Mick burst out, wide eyed and excited shouting "we've been robbed, go and get the manager quick".

I dashed off, fearing the worst and told the venue manager who followed me back to the dressing room. Upon entering he asked us what had been stolen. I looked into the corner of the room and was relieved to see my bass still there and also noticed Robin's guitar had not gone missing.

It seemed to me that if we had been robbed Mick was the only victim. Indeed he was, he turned on the manager and replied angrily to his question "A packet of tunes out of my pocket, that's what's been stolen!"
