The first Newsletter mentions our roadie, Dave. He worked hard for us, they all did but I recall an incident involving him. The North East was well known for its pits and mining communities but it probably was not appreciated that a consequence of the mining was road subsidence. Quite often there would be large undulations and defects in the road surfaces, which were attributable to the mine workings underneath the road. Sometimes, the subsidence also resulted in the nearby lamp-posts or telegraph posts becoming misaligned one way or the other.

Generally these types of things never ever caused any problems to most (normal) people but of course Dave handled things differently from most people.

We had quite a lot of equipment, and we used to store it at some premises near Anfield Plain in Durham. This meant that whenever we had a gig, the roadies would drive to the premises and collect the gear before making their way to the gig.
