Bullfrog was originally named MANDRAKE and was formed in September 1970.

The original line up
(card) consisted of Michael Simons
(drums), Michael Glancy (vocals), Robin Hird (lead guitar) and Steve Thompson
(bass guitar).
In April 1971, the band members changed the name of the group to
BULLFROG. (card)
Shortly
after the name change this line up performed in Eldon Square in
Newcastle. (photo)
The
original vocalist left the band and was replaced by Pete
MacDonald.
I
replaced the original drummer in 1972
